HEADZ: The 3D Alternative to Apple Memoji for Designers
HEADZ is a modular 3D head library with 400,000+ combinations — fully rigged in Blender with ARKit BlendShapes. A serious alternative to Apple Memoji for landing pages, apps, and marketing.

Apple Memoji are fun — but they're locked inside iMessage, impossible to customise beyond a handful of sliders, and completely off-limits for commercial use. If you've ever wanted Memoji-style 3D avatars on your landing page, app onboarding, or marketing materials, HEADZ is built exactly for that.

What is HEADZ?
HEADZ is a modular 3D illustration library created by ThreeDee.design. It ships with fully rigged 3D heads — Adults, Kids, Elders, and Pets — all built in Blender with consistent cartoon styling. The Adults pack alone has over 400,000 possible combinations by mixing hairstyles, accessories, skin tones, facial expressions, and hand gestures.

The recently released HEADZ 2.0 expanded the system significantly: the Kids pack offers 900,000+ combinations with 5,000+ pre-rendered PNGs, and the Elders pack adds another 100,000+ combinations. Every pack includes Blender source files, so you can re-render at any angle, match brand colours, and create truly custom avatars.

Why not just use Apple Memoji?
Memoji are designed for personal messaging, not design systems. You can't export them as transparent PNGs, you can't adjust the lighting or camera angle, and you definitely can't use them in a client project. HEADZ solves all of these problems: every head renders as a high-res PNG with transparency, and the Blender source files give you complete creative control.

There's also a Blender Generator included that makes customisation dead simple — even if you've never opened Blender before. Pick a skin tone, choose a hairstyle, add accessories like glasses or hats, select an expression, and hit render. The library even ships with a beginner tutorial.

See HEADZ in action
The ThreeDee team published a walkthrough showing exactly what's inside the HEADZ library — from the Blender source files to the pre-rendered PNGs and the Generator tool.
ARKit BlendShapes and Visemes
HEADZ includes all 52 ARKit BlendShapes and 15 visemes based on current industry standards. This means you can use the heads in AR and VR applications with facial tracking — something Apple Memoji can't offer outside their own ecosystem. If you're building anything with face-driven animation, this is a production-ready asset.

Works with Spline for interactive web experiences
The team also built a workflow for exporting HEADZ into Spline — the popular 3D web design tool. This opens up interactive hero sections where users can rotate, zoom, and interact with 3D avatars directly in the browser. It's the kind of detail that sets a landing page apart from every other template-based site.
The modular system

What makes HEADZ particularly powerful is its modularity. Every head is assembled from interchangeable parts: hair, accessories, eyes, teeth, expressions, and hand gestures. You can mix and match across categories to create characters that actually look like your users — different ages, ethnicities, and styles. The Adults pack includes male and female heads in black, brown, and white skin tones, each with 9-10 hairstyle options, 6 accessories (glasses, hats, masks, rings), and 10 facial expressions.

And since HEADZ shares the same visual style as Characterz, Avatarz, Animalz, Emojiz, and the rest of the ThreeDee ecosystem, you can combine assets across packs for a unified look. Need a full-body character with a custom head? Pair Characterz bodies with HEADZ faces.
Compatible with your favourite design tools

HEADZ works seamlessly with the most popular design tools: Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD, Figma, InVision, and of course Blender for full 3D customisation. Pre-rendered PNGs drop into any tool, while the Blender source files give you complete control over materials, lighting, and camera angles.
Pricing
Individual packs (Adults, Kids, or Elders) are $29 each, and the Pets pack is $19. Or grab everything for $39 — which is significantly cheaper than hiring a 3D artist for even a single custom avatar. It's a one-time payment with a money-back guarantee, no subscription required.

Who is HEADZ for?
Product designers building avatar selectors or user profile illustrations. Marketing teams who need diverse, on-brand character heads for campaigns. AR/VR developers who need production-ready face-tracked 3D models. Or anyone who's tried to screenshot an Apple Memoji for a presentation and thought 'there has to be a better way.'
